Description

Grade 2 to 4 student interview protocols were designed to be used before and after engineering lessons.  The protocol includes: a reflection on the student’s Draw an Engineer Test (DAET), probes to capture the student’s understanding of the terms engineer and technology and the work of an engineer, and probes to capture the student’s interest in becoming an engineer.  In association with the project Elementary Engineering Education (NSF DRK-12 DRL 0822261), these protocols were used in academic years 2008-09 through 2012-13.  The protocols evolved over the course of the project.
