The Wabash River Enhancement Corporation (WREC) is working to improve water quality in the Wabash River
area through programs about water issues and how people in the community can help. Since 2006, Purdue
University and WREC have conducted several surveys of Tippecanoe County residents’ attitudes and perceptions
of the Wabash River and water issues, as well as their adoption of stormwater management practices such as rain
barrels, rain gardens, and pervious pavement. These surveys help improve our understanding of how people’s
perceptions change over time, as well as the overall effectiveness of WREC’s water programs.
